Soudan Underground State Park- Our tour bus brings you to a unique state park that is 1/2 mile below ground. A 90 minute tour on an underground mine cart gives you an experience like no other.
The Vince Shute Wildlife Sanctuary- This non-for-profit sanctuary gives you and your family a chance to view wild American black bears in their natural environment. Shuttle leaves every Wednesday evening but is subject to change. Bring your camera, water, snacks and spending money for admission and gift shop.
International Wolf Center - Located in Ely just one hour east of Crane Lake the International Wolf Center holds a pack of wolves for public viewing along with educational speakers and movies regarding the ecology of wolves in Minnesota. The Orr bog represents a great example of typical wetlands found within the coniferous forests of northern Minnesota. Individuals selected by USA Hockey are recognized and enshrined in the hall on a yearly basis. Vermillion Interpretive Center - the center offers exhibits dating from 12,000 years ago focusing on the Ojibwe Indians, fur trading, mining, logging, innovations and a North Pole expedition. Minnesota Discovery Center & Iron Range Research Center – visit this special library as it focuses on the regional, local and personal history of Minnesota's iron ranges and the people who settled there. Virginia Heritage museum – This museum houses three major exhibits: The logging era, Virginia's two decimating fires, and the trolley line that traversed the Iron Range until 1927. In addition, the log cabin exhibits recreate the way of life in the early days. Also, hundreds of photos and an outstanding collection of vintage postcards are available for viewing. Minnesota Museum of Mining – This museum gives you that chance for some “hands on” experience with mining.
